The Journal
Welcome to my Online Journal. I’m Forever Blessed, formally, Erika Smith, author and writer of Angle & Perspective; a culturally relevant journal focused on matters close to the heart with evocative messages that entreat readers to draw attention to self-reflection, social conscientiousness and positive reverberation to encourage activism, engagement, response, and personal contemplation.
The author, coming from a diverse background with a dynamic personality, seeks to challenge readers into looking at things from a new Angle & Perspective in hopes of cultivating understanding, expanding awareness, and peaking curiosity to explore ideas that probe the imagination for creative responses before a final conclusion or judgment is made on any given subject.
This journal is committed to maintaining a reputation for and continued practice of ethical journalism to which readers may be confident that all outside sources of information being retrieved are done so by honest and lawful means for the purpose of reporting facts, evidence, figures, details, stories and eye-witness accounts as truthfully and factually as possible, to the best of the author’s ability. If and when any inaccuracy is found, to uphold itself to scrutiny and accountability and make necessary corrections in as timely a manner as possible in order to preserve credibility and trust.
As an independent journalist, I have no association to any particular affiliation with any organization which would influence the content of these articles. My opinions are formed by interpretation of the data presented along with life experience, and in general material will be presented as objectively and impartially as possible to give the reader a fair chance at making an informed decision themselves -while the author herself may express a clear position, stance or opinion differing from widespread opinion or mainstream perspective and make it plainly stated and known as is practiced in Opinion Journalism.
With the aforementioned stated, this journal seeks to redefine professional journalism by allowing a very human element to flow throughout the work. By interweaving personal accounts and stories that make the content more relatable to the readers, complimentary to my personal blog “Forever Blessed Life,” bearing in mind the author’s right to reservation, omission or ambiguity on account of the need for privacy and protection.
In this way, the ambitions of the journal are again, one requiring a new angle & perspective on what a journal is, what reporting the times fundamentally consists of and challenging some of the social norms in journalistic reporting by promoting the idea that “being human is no less professional”; still keeping a respect for Journalistic traditions at large, but perhaps returning to a more fundamental approach to the simplistic origins of “journaling”. This journal is then, not just a publication of outside sourced material, but will include accounts and reporting of the author’s own personal life at times, in hopes of connecting to readers on a more personal level and in attempting to bring more balance to some of the areas of our culture that have fallen victim to dehumanization, encouraging others to be more human in return.
ChatGPT or any AI-related generators are not used in any of the content produced unless photo editing software or other web applications contain unknown background AI programs. Articles are manually written and fully human-curated.
The nature of Angle & Perspective is to cover stories, events, people, places and information from various knowledge bases for reporting, sharing, providing resources, connecting individuals and communities and impacting social change. The primary areas of interest for this journal are as follows:
